Abstract
Ecosystems water management is opening a new dimension
of the goals and functions of water management. It also requires
new kinds of policy, new types of instruments and consequently new
kinds of provisions on the organizational level.
This contribution deals with the analysis of some aspects
of the choices which can be made in river basin management. It deals
with the influence on ecosystems water management which may be exercised
by organizational arrangements such as privatization, widening the
scope of the managing authorities, involving the water users and
public participation. The contribution of zoning is also included.
The main concern is to discern what arrangements may promote ecosystems
water management.
