Status of exotic invasive species on Lake Kariba

Several plant and fish exotic species now occur in Lake Kariba. The aquatic plant species include Kariba weed (Salvinia auriculata) and water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). The exotic fish species include Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides). This paper reviews the status of these exotic species.
