Partnership development: Key stages for co-managerial achievement. The case of Lake Victoria, Tanzania.

Co-management is a form of institutional arrangement between the government and the user to effectively manage a defined resource. This cannot be achieved without well-defined responsibilities, which should be attained through partnership development.

This paper intends to reflect the potential for partnership development L. Victoria Tanzanian side, by exploring a research survey with 300 interviews and one year participatory monitoring process in two fishing beaches.

Awareness creation, assessing, initiating, exploring and committing stages have been identified to be among the key issues for partnership development and co-managerial process achievement.
