Partnership development: Key stages for co-managerial
achievement. The case of Lake Victoria, Tanzania.
Co-management is a form of institutional arrangement between the
government and the user to effectively manage a defined resource.
This cannot be achieved without well-defined responsibilities, which
should be attained through partnership development.
This paper intends to reflect the potential for partnership development
L. Victoria Tanzanian side, by exploring a research survey with
300 interviews and one year participatory monitoring process in
two fishing beaches.
Awareness creation, assessing, initiating, exploring and committing
stages have been identified to be among the key issues for partnership
development and co-managerial process achievement.
